Richard Marshall Richard (Dick) joined Sills & Betteridge as
a Partner and head of department from another local
firm in 2003. He has degrees from Leicester and Sheffield
Universities, and spent some time lecturing and some
years with the CPS before returning to private practice
in 1983. He has wide experience in crime, mental health
and liquor licensing, and is on the Duty Solicitor and
Mental Health Tribunal Specialist panels. He is fluent
in French, and when not in Court or at his desk he may
well be found exploring the depths of the french countryside
or possibly cross-country skiing.
Mark McNeil
Mark McNeil joined Sills & Betteridge as an Assistant Solicitor on 11 April 2005 and became a partner on 1 December 2007. Mark has a Batchelor of Science Degree in Biomedical Science before moving into law. He trained and practised with the largest criminal law firm in the country - The Johnson Partnership solicitors of Nottingham. He has dealt with all areas of law, dealing with some very high profile cases. Mr McNeil soon established himself as a leading advocate of Nottingham, described by the prosecution memorably as ‘an up and coming star of the Nottingham circuit’. He now brings that wealth of experience and expertise to the Lincolnshire circuit and to the Sills & Betteridge clients.When not at work Mark can be found at the City Ground in Nottingham watching his favourite football team Nottingham Forest, or walking in Derbyshire and in Devon.
Gareth Woodhouse
Gareth Woodhouse is a Litigation Executive and has worked
in the firm's Criminal Law Department since 1997. Gareth
is an accredited Police Station representative and appointed
representative under the Police Station Duty Solicitor
Scheme. This means that he is able to provide advice
and assistance on the full range of offences dealt with
at the Police Station. In addition, Gareth is engaged
in the preparation of cases for Magistrates Court and
Crown Court hearings.
