Finding yourself the subject of a criminal
investigation or prosecution, whatever the nature of
the alleged offence, is always a difficult and stressful
experience. The Criminal Law team at Sills & Betteridge
can offer practical advice and support at all stages
of a criminal case from the initial stages of an investigation
through to proceedings in the Magistrates and Crown Courts.
You will be helped in an approachable yet professional
and efficient manner whatever the nature of your case.
You can rest assured that our specialist Criminal Law team
has considerable experience in providing advice and representation
on the full range of criminal offences. You will find that
we can provide advice at all stages of your case and representation
in the Magistrates Court. We can also in some cases represent
clients in the Crown Court as well as in the Magistrates Court
as Richard Marshall is granted the Higher Rights of Audience
for Criminal Proceedings qualification. We also work regularly
with leading barristers to provide a comprehensive service
for Crown Court cases.
You can also rely on our experience in dealing with road traffic offences. Our
team has considerable experience in dealing with the full range of such offences
and we can provide a full service from initial advice through to representation
at court. For motoring cases where legal aid is not available, we are in almost all instances able to give a fixed price quote.
We can act for you and give expert advice if you are the subject of an investigation
or prosecution brought by an agency other than the Police. For example our Criminal
Law team has experience in cases brought by other statutory or regulatory bodies
such as Customs & Excise, the Health and Safety Executive, the Environment Agency
and Local Authorities.
Our Criminal Law department also deals with alcohol and other licensing work
in the Magistrates Court and Crown Court.
