The role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Family Solicitor (4 years + PQE) to join our well-respected Family Department at our Nottingham branch. The successful person will manage the Nottingham branch on a day to day basis, as well as their own caseload specializing in all aspects of care work.

This position is suited to a confident professional with first class interpersonal and motivational skills and the passion to help drive the firm forwards. In return we are offering a highly competitive remuneration package and career progression prospects.

Duties

The role will include:

  • taking on existing matters or running existing matters;
  • managing and progressing own caseload in an efficient and effective manner;

The role

Sills & Betteridge have one of the largest family, divorce and childcare law teams in Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire. All solicitors in our department are members of Resolution and we work across all the different areas of family law.

We are looking for people who are ideally educated to degree level and it is desirable that applicants have practical experience of working within family law. We are looking for a hardworking individual who is confident, driven, bright and enthusiastic with very strong communication skills. Ideally the person will have experience of working in family law and with emergency injuctions however if a canddiate has excellent ‘soft skills’ we can provide the necessary legal training.

Duties

The role will include:

  • assisting and supporting the family fee earner on a range of family law matters with a particular focus on the emergency injunction and/ or private children law work;
  • undertaking basic divorces and assisting the fee earner on financial matters including preparing schedules of assets/liabilities, chronologies, bundles etc;
  • assisting with casework;
  • meeting with clients;
  • taking instructions and preparing cases;
  • dealing with correspondence; and
  • assisting with billing and attending court as well as various administrative tasks.
