Relief Office Cleaner- Lincoln

Hours: Variable depending on need

Office location: Lincoln

Contract: 0 hours contract

We are looking for a relief office cleaner to work within our Lincoln offices on a 0 hours contract. Our cleaning hours are between 5:15pm and 7:15pm, Monday to Friday. The successful applicant will be available to cover these hours in the event of sickness or annual leave. You will need to have previous experience of cleaning within an office environment, but full training will also be given by the Head Cleaner.

Skills required

The ideal applicant will:

  • have had experience in a cleaning role;
  • be reliable and proactive;
  • be honest and trustworthy;
  • be flexible and contactable; and
  • be able to provide references for the previous 3 years due to the nature of the business.

 

Duties

The role will include but is not limited to;

The Firms Training Scheme

 

We currently take on a maximum of two trainee solicitors each year for a two-year training contract commencing in September. Your two-year training contract will provide you with hands-on experience in a number of different areas of the law, one of them non-contentious.

 

The departments that you are likely to gain experience in include; litigation, corporate and commercial, commercial property, family and mediation, will, trusts and probate. While we do try to accommodate your stated preferences, the availability of training placements at the time and the firm’s business needs do play a significant part in the seats you have.

 

You will be given responsibility early on with possibly their own caseload and an opportunity to carry out their own advocacy. You will be supervised by an individual solicitor in the department in which you are placed and you will have regular meetings and reviews with the training partner of the firm.

 

We have an excellent and proactive training department within the firm, and you will be invited to regular in house training days organised by the firms HR department. The training partner/ department has an open-door policy and encourages discussion about your training contract. Training is something we believe and invest in- your success is our success

 

The aim of the firm is to build upon the skills and knowledge acquired during your academic studies to develop you in an effective practising lawyer. We invest heavily in our trainees and we like to ‘grow our own’.   • Taking on existing matters or running existing matters, in a busy and expanding department;
  • Managing and progressing own caseload in an efficient and effective manner, under the supervision and guidance of senior colleagues where required;
  • Delegating work as appropriate to more junior members of staff and supervising that work (offering guidance where appropriate) to ensure quality of work produced by the department is of the highest standard;
  • Taking an active involvement in business development activities organised by the department or firm;
  • Dealing with enquiries from potential clients, colleagues and existing clients promptly to ensure that all business opportunities are dealt with professionally and to the satisfaction of the client or enquirer;
  • Achieving both individual and team financial targets agreed with the Department Head; and
  • Identifying and following up new business opportunities.

The role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Solicitor (4 years + PQE) to join our well-respected Conveyancing Department working from our busy, central Lincoln office. The successful candidate will manage their own caseload as well as assisting with management and marketing.

Duties

The role will include:

  • Dealing with a caseload of new build purchases, freehold, leasehold, shared ownership and general complex residential property matters;
  • Supervision and training of a junior fee earner;
  • Day-to-day supervision and day-to-day management of a new build purchase team; and
  • Working with the Head of Department and Department Manager to develop and grow the firm’s new build purchase team.
