Shan Jaehrig is a Partner in the Commercial Department now based in our Gainsborough Office.
Shan was admitted as a Solicitor in 1994 having attended the College of Law at Lancaster Gate, London. Shan joined Sills & Betteridge as an Associate in 2006 and became a Partner in 2007. She specialises in Employment Law.
Shan advises across the whole range of Employment Law which is ever-changing and challenging. Shan assists the Sills & Betteridge Corporate and Commercial Team on the Employment Law aspects of corporate transactions, including business sales and acquisitions. Shan’s role is to advise in relation to the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006, Employees’ Contracts and accommodation rights, Directors’ Service Agreements and Post-Termination Restrictions.
Shan has extensive experience working on behalf of gangmasters across the country and advising on the implications of the Gangmasters (Licensing) Act 2004; she regularly liaises with the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority. She was invited to sit on the Employment Lawyers Association Gangmasters Working Party to review changes to the legislation and advise as appropriate.
Shan represents our corporate clients, including farmers, at Employment Tribunals and handles complex contentious and non-contentious employment issues ranging from holiday entitlement to discrimination.
Shan is Vice Chair of the Lincolnshire County Football Association and is Lincolnshire’s representative on the National FA Council. Shan is also Vice chair of Governors of the Queen Elizabeth High School in Gainsborough.
