We are delighted to announce our recent acquisition of boutique legal practice Rawson Family Law of Sheffield, and the appointment of its Principal Solicitor Louise Rawson.
The firm moved into South Yorkshire in 2018 and 12 months later merged with full service legal practice Bridge Sanderson Munro of Doncaster, Bawtry, Thorne and Wath Upon Dearne. This latest development realises our aspiration to expand into Sheffield, where we ultimately plan to provide a full range of legal services.
Solicitor Louise has over twenty years’ experience in all areas of family law including divorce and financial matters, cohabitational disputes including applications to the court, children issues including contact and care arrangements and emergency applications for domestic violence injunctions.
Louise explained her decision to join forces with the firm “It has been hugely rewarding building up Rawson Family Law and supporting my clients through their relationship and family issues, but I feel the time is now right to let a large firm take over the development of the practice as part of its own operations. I am looking forward to a new era working with Sills & Betteridge and enjoying the support of my new colleagues.'
Head of Family Law, Helen Derry said “Louise combines a sensitive, personable touch with a pragmatic approach to achieving the very best outcomes for her clients. She will make an excellent addition to the family team in Doncaster and help us to drive forward our plans for Sheffield.”
The firm has some interesting links with Sheffield! Roger Betteridge, principal of the firm from 1948-76 was born in Kiveton Park, educated at Woodhouse Grammar School and read for his law degree at the University of Sheffield in the late 1930s before eventually moving, after war service, to Lincoln to join our firm - and Thomas Nowill, the Master Cutler in 1788, funded his son-in law, John May Bromehead’s purchase of a share in our business!
