Celebrating the Class of '25

We are incredibly proud to announce this week, the recent qualification of 3 of our Trainee Solicitors. Rachel Khan, Charlotte MacMillan and Victoria Cope have now qualified as solicitors and accepted positions in the firm.

Rachel's journey included graduating with a Business Studies Degree, taking a career break to have children and then retraining to become a solicitor. She completed a Graduate Diploma in Law with BPP Leeds and then went on to complete a LLM Masters in Law, which incorporated the Legal Practice Course. She joined Sills & Betteridge as a Paralegal in 2022 and began her Training Contract in Sept 2023. Rachel will now join the Private Client team in Grimsby.

Charlotte, a graduate of the University of Lincoln and Nottingham Trent University completed training seats in Commercial Property, Family Law, Commercial Litigation and Residential Property and has accepted a position in our Lincoln Residential Property team, where she will handle a wide range of conveyancing matters.

On completion of her law degree, Victoria studied for her Legal Practice Course and Masters qualifications whilst working for the firm as a Paralegal in our Family Emergency team. She then completed a Family Law-only Training Contract working in our Doncaster and Sheffield teams. Victoria will continue to work in the South Yorkshire Family Law team.

Training Principal Simon Breeden said

"This is a celebration of individual achievement and the firm's commitment to high quality training and development. Rachel, Charlotte, Charlotte and Victoria have each taken different routes to qualification, but they share dedication, resilience and professionalism. It is a privilege to be part of their journey and I look forward to seeing their careers flourish."

We also welcome 4 new Trainee Solicitors this month - Georgia Shaw, Julia Krupinska, Eve Durrant and Hannah Hutchinson, taking the number of Trainee Solicitors in the firm to 10.

Sills & Betteridge are also keen supporters of alternative training routes and currently have 10 Apprentice Solicitors and 34 additional colleagues in training positions.

We are committed to providing an environment where talented individuals can thrive and succeed - regardless of the path they take. Our investment in a wide range of routes to qualification, structured training and meaningful mentorship ensures that we remain not only a place of legal excellence, but an outstanding training ground for the next generation of legal professionals.
