We welcome Katherine Marshall and Yana Byelova to our Litigation team this month, expanding our capability across contentious probate, commercial litigation, professional negligence and construction-related disputes.
Katherine joins the firm as a Partner, bringing more than 20 years' litigation experience and a well-established reputation in will, trust and estate disputes. She advises executors, trustees and beneficiaries across a range of contentious probate claims, including Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 claims, validity disputes, executor and beneficiary disputes, executor removal claims, trust disputes and proprietary estoppel claims.
She also has extensive experience in commercial litigation, with a particular focus on professional negligence claims. Her broad litigation background enables her to provide strategic and pragmatic advice on complex and high-value disputes. Coming from a farming background, she also brings valuable insight to matters involving agricultural estates.
Joining as an Associate Solicitor, Yana Byelova advises businesses, organisations and individuals on a wide range of commercial, property and construction-related disputes. Since qualifying in 2018, Yana has built a strong reputation for delivering practical, commercially focused advice and successfully guiding clients through litigation, negotiation, mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
Commenting on the appointments, Senior Partner Karen Bower-Brown who is also the head of the firm's Commercial Litigation & Dispute Resolution department, said:
"We are delighted to welcome both Katherine and Yana to the firm. Their appointments reflect our continued investment in building a strong and diverse Litigation team capable of supporting clients across a broad range of contentious matters. As our presence across the region continues to grow, so too does our commitment to delivering accessible, high-quality legal services to the communities we serve".
