Anna O'Mara is a Partner and Solicitor specialising in Wills, Trusts and Probate. She leads the firm's Wills, Trusts & Probate team across our Northern offices and is recognised for combining technical excellence with a practical, compassionate approach that helps clients navigate some of life's most important and sensitive decisions.
Anna was a finalist for Partner of the Year 2026 at the Yorkshire Legal Awards in recognition of her outstanding contribution to legal services in Yorkshire, leadership within the private client sector and growing profile as a consumer protection advocate.
Anna advises individuals, families, business owners, farmers, trustees and vulnerable clients on a wide range of private client matters. She is particularly known for her work involving complex succession planning, high-value and agricultural estates, inheritance tax mitigation, trust structures, Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection matters and the administration of challenging estates. She is frequently instructed where sensitive family, financial and personal considerations require clear strategic advice delivered with empathy and discretion.
Alongside her private client practice, Anna has developed a strong reputation as a commentator on consumer protection and legal awareness issues. Her expertise has been featured nationally through appearances on BBC programmes including Rip Off Britain and Morning Live, where she has provided practical guidance on consumer rights and financial matters. Her views have also been sought by national publications including The Daily Telegraph, The Daily Mail and The Guardian.
Anna is accredited by the Association of Lifetime Lawyers and is a Dementia Friend with the Alzheimer's Society, reflecting her commitment to supporting older and vulnerable clients. She is also a member of the Rotary Club of Scunthorpe Pentagon and the Dying Matters group in Scunthorpe. Outside her legal practice, Anna volunteers as a listener for the Samaritans.

Anna qualified as a solicitor in 2008 after training with a Legal 500 firm in Leeds and has since practised throughout Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. She joined Sills & Betteridge as a Partner in 2021 and is the branch manager of the firm's Howden office.
