Laura Herrod is a Solicitor working in the Personal Injury Department.
Laura began her legal career at Sills & Betteridge LLP as a Trainee Solicitor in 2021 and qualified as a solicitor in the Personal Injury Department in 2023.
Laura has a varied caseload across a broad range of personal injury matters, including compensation claims arising from accidents at work, road traffic accidents and accidents in public places. She also makes applications to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority on behalf of victims of violent crime.
Laura handles cases across the fast track, intermediate track and multi-track, giving her experience of claims of varying complexity and value. She spends approximately 50% of her time assisting Partner, Simon Breeden, on higher-value, serious, and complex personal injury claims. She assists Simon Breeden who represents clients in personal injury claims where they have sustained injuries including, but not limited to, acquired brain injuries, spinal injuries, amputations, complex orthopaedic injuries and psychiatric injuries. Laura also assists on files representing families in fatal accident claims.
Laura studied Law (LLB) at the University of Lincoln, where she achieved a First Class Honours degree. She went on to complete the Legal Practice Course (LPC) at Nottingham Law School, having been awarded a Dean’s Scholarship for Academic Excellence, and achieved a distinction.
