Melanie Morton

Melanie is a Solicitor, Partner and Head of the Employment Law Department.

With over 15 years of dedicated experience in employment law, Melanie provides clear and pragmatic advice to clients across a wide range of sectors including transport, retail, manufacturing, technology, education, healthcare and leisure.

Known for her approachability and client-centric focus, Melanie supports businesses, charities, public sector bodies and individuals on the full spectrum of employment issues. Notably Melanie has extensive experience in the provision of strategic HR advice and large scale HR project support, negotiating severance agreements for senior employees, complex disciplinary and grievance procedures, discrimination matters, redundancy and restructure, unfair and constructive unfair dismissal, TUPE and recruitment.

Melanie has particular expertise and interest in delivering tailored training sessions on employment law and HR compliance, working in partnership with clients to help them to stay ahead of legislative changes and reduce legal risk through proactive management. A confident and strategic litigator, Melanie also represents clients in employment tribunal proceedings, combining years of legal insight with commercial awareness to help clients navigate the process and achieve the best possible result.

Melanie is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and has been recognised by the Legal 500 as a Rising Star.
